As a Lead Service Specialist, you will join the Mevex activities.
Mevex is a manufacturer and supplier of integrated sterilization equipment, with a range of equipment and services from e-beam, x-ray, ethylene oxide (EtO), conveyors and robotics to meet customized needs. Projects can vary from the supply of a Linear Accelerator (Linac) up to the integration of a validated irradiation system including a conveyor system, process management, automation, and radiation shield design. These systems are used most commonly to sterilize life-saving single-use medical devices. A growing application for the systems is food irradiation for phytosanitary purposes, to improve food safety and extend shelf life.
Position summary
A Lead Service Specialist :
- Leads service activities in Europe (preventive and corrective maintenance activities)
- Is instrumental in achieving high Customer satisfaction in its region in collaboration with Field Service Specialists
- Works with other regional LSSs and the Global Service Manager to improve service processes and harmonize best practices globally.
- Provides technical and organizational guidance to Field Service Specialists.
- Develops Customer-specific improvement programs to improve system reliability
- Reports system improvement suggestions based on field experience back to Engineering department .
- Develops a strong professional working relation with Customers (acts as escalation point of contact for critical issues)
- Manages available regional resources according to Customer priorities.
Duties 1/2
The Lead Service Specialist:
- Manages Customer projects such as upgrades and implementation projects within agreed planning and budget
- Schedules preventive maintenance activities in agreement with the Customer
- Develops work-plans for scheduled maintenance activities.
- Guide and support the regional Field Service Specialists for technical or organizational related matters
- Initiate proactive system status follow-up with Customers.
- Develop and maintain a Customer specific “continuous improvement action plan” aiming at improving system reliability and performances
- Collect, prioritize and report system improvement recommendations based on field experience
- Analyzes unplanned downtime, and further develops the “continuous improvement action plan” to reduce or eliminate future occurrences.

- Approves documents and reports issued by the regional FSS
- Manages the regional inventory
- Must be proficient in the requirements of the other Field Service Specialist
- Contributes in a team effort by performing in accordance to Lean principles and other STERIS group directive
The Lead Service Sepcialist has experience with industrial sterilization systems including technical areas such as high power industrial accelerators , cavities under high vacuum, high power Radio Frequency (RF), precise electronics boards and drawings , high voltage systems, magnetic electron beam steering elements, precise mechanical assemblies, precision conveyor systems, product buffering system, photo eyes , blade stops, bar code generators and readers, box flippers, pallet rotators, Siemens PLCs
The Lead Service Specialist travels for periods of up to one week per month. Travels can be planned or unplanned emergencies.
Education experience, knowledge & skills
Master Degree in electro-mechanical with 3 years of experience required (or equivalent)
Must be fluent in English
Experienced with maintenance of Industrial sterilization systems
Experienced with maintenance of electron beam sterilization systems
Experience with managing small to medium size industrial projects (projects of product improvement/modification)
Knowledge of the sterilization system layout and components (basic level).
Knowledge of electrical safety standards and protocol.
Skill to provide excellent Customer service and support
Skill to lead and coordinate people and resources in alignment with Customer needs
